Who we are - Northeast Wisconsin Chinese Association

The North East Wisconsin Chinese Association is a non-profit organization that was founded by the Chinese Community. The Association was founded in the 1980s by a few families from Taiwan, and now has grown to have a membership of 100 families strong (exact number to be determined) originating from many different countries. Our membership is diverse including multi-generation Chinese-Americans, first generation Chinese immigrants, foreign exchange students, and families with adopted Chinese children. It is an extended family with a diverse background. The Association has members who are doctors, professors, engineers, restaurant owners, private entrepreneurs as well as office workers.

Currently the association has two elected officers, the president and executive vice-president. The executive vice-president also acts as the Treasurer and Secretary.

Elections are held annually around the Chinese New Year. The Association sponsored activities are supported primarily by the membership fee and private donations. Donations are greatly appreciated since the Association operates on a very limited budget, and is run by volunteers.
